Penetration Testing

Total 360 Security provides a complete range of Penetration Testing to meet your security and compliance needs.

What is Penetration Testing?

Penetration testing (AKA pen testing) is an authorized cybersecurity test that uses the same tactics as a malicious hacker would to uncover weak spots in a network.

Penetration testing methodology aims to uncover what a hacker could find out with insider access to your network. If an attacker gains access to the network, or if an employee has malicious intent, penetration testing tools can assess what information they can discover and what is protected. Most companies lack the ability to do this cybersecurity testing on their own as it requires penetration testing tools and the expertise to use them effectively.

Why Do I Need Penetration Testing?

Even if you secure your network from the outside, hidden inside threats pose a risk to your business. According to the IBM 2016 Cyber Security Intelligence Index, 60% of all cybersecurity breaches are carried out by insiders. Out of these, approximately 75% involved malicious intent, while 25% were inadvertent.

Total 360 Security is a simplicity-oriented penetration testing company that will help you secure your network without confusing IT jargon. Our team knows how to conduct a penetration test that will be most effective for your company’s goals. Our pen testing tools will help identify internal threats to your business and secure your network so that malicious employees or inside hackers are blocked from accessing private information, using the most advanced cybersecurity techniques to ensure the safety of your data.

Why Use Total 360 Security For Penetration Testing?

Penetration testing lets you know what would happen if a malicious user got into your network. Many organizations wonder why they would bother with pen testing when their network has been tested to be secure. The truth of the matter is that any employee can decide to use their network privileges to access information, and it is important to know what they would find if they do.

Many pen testers will simply run a test, but lack the expertise of a hacker to see how vulnerable things really are. Total 360 Security has over 25 years of proven experience helping customers secure their networks. In addition, Total 360 Security (DBA The Oxman Group) is the only technology company in the Dallas-Fort Worth area licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Private Investigations Company, Alarm Company, and Electronic Access Control Company (License #C10504801).

We are experts with penetration testing and provide not only comprehensive reporting but remediation steps as well for your organization.

What Happens If Someone Doesn’t Do Penetration Testing?

Penetration testing could have helped one of the biggest electricity companies in the US prevent a security breach that cost them potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

In 2020, after several years of investigation, the FBI found two former employees of General Electric guilty of stealing insider information to start their own, competing company. The employees stole information on advanced computer models for turbine calibration as well as information on marketing and pricing. This happened because the employees downloaded thousands of trade secrets from company files, uploaded them to the cloud, and gained access to data that they weren’t supposed to have.

None of these actions triggered an alert from the General Electric security system. GE lost several major clients for turbine calibration because of this breach that could have been prevented had they done internal network penetration testing.
